About a month after Sadie was born, our friends Aaron and Stacy welcomed their twins, Odin and Hazel. We visited them when they were about two weeks old to bring them food. (Note: if you ever have friends with new babies, the best thing you can do is bring them food. Any kind of food. Don’t even ask. Just bring it.) We had been through quite a whirlwind in the early weeks of our baby’s life and we hoped that in addition to food, we could offer them a bit of hope. Like all of the parents who brought us food when Sadie was born, we repeated the same words: “It will get easier.”
To be honest, I had no idea how they were managing with twins. TWINS! That’s twice the diapers, twice the feedings, twice the crying! What I know now is that humans are resilient and strong. Not only did they handle it, but from the looks of it, they are having lots of fun. I also know that they have twice the cuddles, twice the giggles, and twice the love.
Almost eight months later, I met Aaron, Stacy, Odin and Hazel for a photo session. Aaron arranged the photo session for Stacy’s birthday. (Note to other daddies: this is an AWESOME gift for mommies!)
I loved catching up with them, comparing notes on our babies, and photographing this sweet blue-eyed family! Here are some of my favorite photos from our morning together, wandering the gardens at the Ballard Locks.
Gorgeous family, right? I can’t wait to see who these babies grow into. No doubt, the will have a lot of fun with parents like Aaron and Stacy.
