To say that I adore Jennifer Louden is an understatement. I’ve been following her for a while now on Twitter and love what she is doing with her Savor and Serve Cafe. She’s one of those people that you can tell is the real deal. Despite the fact that she is a best-selling author and despite the fact that she does so many amazing things with so many amazing people, she has her feet firmly planted on the ground – unless, of course, she’s skipping down the street (something I witnessed first-hand last week.)
Recently, our names have popped up in the same projects. We both contributed to Lisa Baldwin’s 23 things you might not know about you and to Heather Plett’s A Path for Happy Wanderers. So when I received an email from Jennifer last month asking about doing a photo session, I could barely contain myself!
In the online world, it’s easy to make assumptions about people – what they are going to look like, act like, talk like. I’ve learned through years of online dating (that’s how I met my honey) to not have any expectations about the person. However, when I met Jen, I expected to like her. And let me tell you, my expectations were far exceeded by her warmth, generosity, and pure and utter silliness. I really wanted to capture all of these things with my camera, so we set off on a grand adventure through downtown Seattle, ending at the Olympic Sculpture Park. Jen came ready to play, something that is so exciting for me as a photographer.
So without further ado, here’s a peek into my photo session/play date with Miss Jennifer Louden…

Jennifer, it was an absolute pleasure photographing you! I’m so glad we were finally able to connect in real life. I’m sure it won’t be the last time.

I'm in love with each and every photo. Way to go, both of you!
These are absolutely beautiful. I have beautiful photo envy. I am one of those better-behind-the-lens folks. You have created magic here. Skip-the-light-fantastic magic.
These photos are ravishing! Jen, you are so beautiful! Darrah, you've captured her radiant spirit in every single shot. Well done, you two!
Love them, Darrah! Amazing eyes and smile and a definite playfulness there. I see she values color as much as you, too. Loving all those bright pieces of clothing, shoes, etc.:)
