Remember gorgeously pregnacious Cariann and her sweet family? When Cariann told me her due date was May 23, I KNEW her new baby would be born on May 24. And what do you know? I was right! May 24 happens to be my birthday, so I like to think that this little guy and I have a special connection.
I met the new baby a few weeks ago when he was just over a week old, a perfect time to take newborn photos. The family was just starting to settle in to their new routine and were clearly in love with him. His big brother and sister were constantly showering him with kisses and giggles. And proud mama and papa were impressively calm and well rested.
I’m not surprised, though. This is a special family. They have a sign in their back yard over their chicken coup (yes, they have chickens!) that says, “Live well. Love much. Laugh often.” I think this sums up this family perfectly. They are warm and funny and full of love. I kind of want them to adopt me, but I think they have enough children to juggle at the moment.
And with that, allow me introduce you to baby Gavin. I warn you, you might find yourself saying, “Awwww…” out loud multiple times. I mean, look at that face! Those toes! Those itty-bitty fingers!

Congratulations Cariann, Jason, J.J., and Ruby on the newest member of your family! It was truly an honor to document this special time in your life. See you in six months!
