are you curious?

“Appreciation springs from attention, and attention springs from intention.”
~ Andrea Lewicki

I met Andrea last year when I photographed her at Gasworks Park, here in Seattle. We had so much fun playing together. I really view photo sessions that way. They’re like play dates. There’s a lot of, “Ooh, what if we did this?” and “Oh, let’s try that!” We play with clothes, accessories, and spend much of the time chatting and getting to know each other. And sometimes we find ourselves twirling in circles or rolling in the grass, all in the quest to capture the real “you” – you know the one that rises to surface on your best days, the one who feels confident, playful, and happy in your own skin.

Andrea says in her bio that she “helps people experience their curiosity” and I couldn’t agree more. That was certainly how she approached our photo session. She invites people to be be themselves and experience life in a way that feels good to them. I dig that.

I’m so pleased to be hanging out with Andrea over in her virtual home today. She invited me to be a part of her interview series, “Curiosity in Common” and I immediately said yes! So much of what I do relates to this very topic. Curiosity plays a huge role in my photography and how I interact with the world.

I hope you’ll stop by and check out the interview!
